The Parsi Gara is more than just a saree; it is often described as "poetry in embroidery." Originating from the Parsi community in India, these sarees are a stunning cross-cultural masterpiece, blending Persian elegance, Chinese flora and fauna, and Indian textile traditions.

The Origin: The Silk Route Connection

The history of the Gara is tied to the 19th-century trade between India and China. Parsi merchants traveling to China brought back intricately embroidered silk fabrics. Originally, these were long silk scrolls or shawls, which were later adapted into the six-yard saree format. The word Gara literally translates to "saree" in Gujarati, the primary language of the Parsi community.

The Heirloom Value

Because a fully hand-embroidered Gara can take six to nine months (or more) for a single craftsman to complete, they are considered significant investments. In Parsi families, these sarees are prized heirlooms passed down through generations.

A Lotus Pink Pure Georgette Saree all over intricately Hand Embroidered with Parsi Gara Phool Patti design. The saree is appliqué work on the inner edges with same colour satin fabric to give strength to it..Its a next to new saree
